KELLY | DORSEY ATTORNEYS OBTAIN DENIAL OF A PETITION FOR A MECHANIC’S LIEN ON BEHALF OF CANNABIS ENTERPRISE

Attorney Greg Dorsey convinced the Circuit Court for Howard County to deny a petition to establish and enforce a mechanic’s lien filed against the firm’s client, a licensed cannabis grower and dispensary. The petitioner claims it provided labor and materials for work upon the real property out of which the firm’s client conducts its business operations and sought to establish a mechanic’s lien in the amount of at least $1,171,933.81. After argument at hearing, the Court denied the petition to establish and enforce a mechanic’s lien. The case remains docketed as a breach of contract action.
