Vincent Viruni


Mr. Viruni is an associate at Kelly | Dorsey, P.C., and assists with the firm’s comprehensive tax controversy practice.  He focuses on resolving disputes between the Internal Revenue Service and clients involving civil and criminal tax matters, helping clients manage risks involved throughout various stages in collections, examinations, and appeals proceedings.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Viruni worked in the philanthropic sector, helping advise tax-exempts, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals achieve sophisticated compliance, governance, planned giving, and legacy planning objectives.


He earned his law degree from the Southwestern University School of Law (J.D., with a Public Service Distinction and an emphasis in Taxation), while clerking in private, public, and judicial capacities in matters involving white collar crime prosecution, bankruptcy, probate, estate planning, and taxation.  Mr. Viruni earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (B.A. in Economics, Honors, with an emphasis in Accounting), where he also performed research on developing nations and the growing renewable energy sector.


He commits his free time to the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service’s Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, which provides tax assistance to the community members at large, and plans to pursue his CPA and LL.M. (Taxation) in the near future.  Mr. Viruni is committed to building long term relationships with his clients and colleagues, adding value to complex transactions, and communicating results, not promises.
